A cache (pronounced CASH) is a section of memory that your browser uses to temporarily store information about websites you visit. Storing this information lets your browser quickly load those same pages from the cache instead of having to transfer that information across the Web every time you visit the site.
Here are the steps to clear your browser cache and cookies in different browsers.
Clearing Cache and Cookies in Internet Explorer®
- On the top toolbar choose the Tools and select Internet Options
- In the General tab
- In the Temporary Internet Files section, click Delete Cookies and click Ok.
- Click Delete Files and click Ok
- Click Ok
- Exit and re-launch the browser.
Clearing Cache and Cookies in Internet Explorer® 7
- Click Tools.
- Click Internet Options.
- Navigate to the Browsing History area and click the Delete button.
- Click Delete Temporary Internet Files
- Click Delete Cookies.
Clearing Cache and Cookies on Firefox® 2.0 and 3.0
- Click Tools and select Options.
- Click the Privacy Icon.
- Under the Private Data section click Clear Now
- Check the Cache and Cookies boxes
- Click Clear Private Data Now.
- Click Ok.
- Exit and re-launch the browser
Clearing Cache and Cookies on Google Chrome
- Click the Tools menu.
- Select Clear browsing data.
- Select Empty the cache and Delete cookies.
- Click Clear browsing data.
